Field Shoot 5-9-2020

The club field practise shoot held on the John Goodwin Range was conducted last Saturday 05-09-2020. Elliott Riley was  the highest scorer in the 12 target practice, with Alex Nesic in 2nd place and Paul Minifie,  in 3rd place.
Well done and thank you to all who shot today, and a big thank you to all those who helped in the construction of the field course, especially my amazing wife Jess Reid, Charles and Michelle Dillon, Alex Nesic, Chris “Slick” Densley. Peter Hill and Gerry Mahony. Thank you also to Bunnings Warehouse for donating all the timber used on the field course and to Tom King Signs for a great deal on all the target markers.

COVID-19 update and club closure

As announced by the state government, regional Victoria will re-enter Stage 3 restrictions midnight Wednesday 5/8/2020. This means our last shoot before entering these restrictions will be Tuesday 4th August 2020. Remember you MUST wear a face covering if you are attending today.

Unfortunately we will have to cease indoor and outdoor club activity once restrictions are enforced, meaning there will be no Saturday, Friday or Tuesday shoots until restrictions are once again lifted. This includes Come and try sessions, indoor league, QDE’s (Qualifying Distance Events) and Club Championship Rounds.

We hope to be back on the archery range on Tuesday 24/09/2020.

Stay safe and mask up! 😷 the sooner we’re through this, the sooner we’re back to the sport we all love! 🎯

Our First Field Shoot

Well done and thank you to all who shot today, and a big thank you to all those who helped in the construction of the field course, especially my amazing wife Jess Reid, Charles and Michelle Dillon, Alex Nesic, Chris “Slick” Densley and Gerry Mahony. Thank you also to Bunnings Warehouse for donating all the timber used on the field course and to Tom King Signs for a great deal on all the target markers.

Covid Update 2/8/2020

COVID-19 update and club safety.

With yesterday’s announcement of mandatory face masks/face coverings from midnight Sunday for ALL Victoria we have received the below updated safety advice from Archery Victoria.

🎯 Athletes engaged in archery for exercise and active recreation purposes MUST wear a face covering at all times when at the club.

🎯 The only exception to this rule is when you are standing on the shooting line and actively engaged in using your bow, where a face covering may interfere with the travel of the bowstring and cause a hazard.

🎯 At all other times, including when moving to and from the target, your face covering must be in place.

🎯 Athletes must at all times be a minimum of 1.5m away from all others. If greater distances can be maintained then this is preferred.

We want all our members to continue to enjoy the competition, active recreation and positive mental wellbeing that archery provides, particularly during these challenging times. To ensure this and to respect the safety and wellbeing of your fellow members, you MUST wear a face covering if you are entering the club from Monday onwards.
